Tropical Depression heads toward Hawaii

This hurricane season has generally been a quiet one in both the Pacific and Atlantic. However, things are looking more interesting right now has Tropical Depression Cosme is threatening to impact Hawaii this weekend. Cosme is not an immediate threat to life or property, but has been hanging on to life consistently, if only barely, for the last few days.

Cosme's infamous cone of error has the Big Island of Hawaii set clearly in sight. While Cosme is not expected to strengthen, it remains very close to Tropical Storm strength and is expected to maintain intensity. If Cosme impacts the Big Island, it is expected to arrive overnight Friday into Saturday. Wind damage should not be too severe but rains could be locally very heavy.
