Well, it looks like Florence is finally getting her act together. With the latest advisory NHC raised Florence's winds to 65 mph, and this could be conservative. The latest satellite estimates place Florence 2 knots shy of hurricane strength. Since our last update the strengthening has continued and hurricane status looks likely in the next day. A hurricane hunter is scheduled to investigate Florence in a few hours and could find hurricane force winds at that time. Either way, the recon mission should provide crucial information about the storm.
Below are also the latest model runs which are calling for Florence to strike Bermuda.
The velocity forecasts yield no surprises. Strengthening has been the forecast all week.
