I have been monitoring the Eastern Pacific for a while now as it has clearly been the most active part of the tropics. Today is looks as if we may have a tropical depression forming in that area. A steady plume of convection exists in what has been a very active area. The convection is definitely strong enough to form into a depression if it is sustained. All we are really missing right now is a closed circulation. However, this circulation should develop if the disturbance can maintain itself for another 12-36 hours. It does look very pretty...
