Waves are everywhere in the atmosphere. One type of these atmospheric waves, known as gravity waves, causes the air to move upward and downward like the surface of the ocean. These waves are usually invisible, but occasionally manifest themselves in the form of clouds. Such was the case back on June 20 over Cedar Rapids, IA. KCRG-TV in Cedar Rapids captured some images and video of these clouds and put them on their website.
