For those of you who can't get enough of exciting tropical cyclones, we now have another in the Indian Ocean. This one, named Mala, is significantly less exciting than Monica though. Currently sustained winds at 45 kts, well below hurricane strength. Mala is not expected to pose a serious threat to the region and should track steadily towards Burma.
Satellite imagery suggests healthy convection under the center of circulation. However, Mala remains otherwise poorly organized. Of course we will continue to track the storm.
