Back in 1950, a prolonged area of pressure interacted with approaching Hurricane King and developed into a tropical storm on October 18 in the central Gulf of Mexico. The newly formed Tropical Storm Love intensified into a hurricane later that day with peak winds of 90 mph. Dry air from Texas later worked into Hurricane Love and the system had weakened to a Tropical Storm by the time it made landfall over the Florida Panhandle on October 21st. Love officialy died that day in Florida.
