Prolonged warm, dry, and windy weather over Texas and Louisiana continues the risk for accidental fire in that region. The National Weather Service – Fort Worth, TX and the Texas Forest Service advise that people take extreme caution in the way they behave outdoors in order to prevent dangerous fires from forming and spreading.
This fire weather situation has been so severe over the past months that President Bush issued a disaster declaration for numerous counties in Texas. The Houston Chronicle has coverage of this story .
