This morning NHC issued another Special Tropical Disturbance Advisory for the remnants of TD 27. Last night I mentioned that the area was showing very good outflow and a curved banding feature. This morning that curved outflow was maintained, and an area of deep convection flared up near the center of circulation. At least in the latest satellite images, this area already looks like a tropical storm. The system will be monitored today for development. A recon is scheduled to investigate this afternoon, so look for the formation of Tropical Storm Gamma around 4pm EST today.
