Government officials in Arkansas remind Katrina refugees that winter is cold

From the AP:

LITTLE ROCK--Governor Huckabee has proclaimed winter weather awareness week, beginning tomorrow. Several agencies, including the National Weather Service and the Arkansas Department
of Emergency Management, are sponsoring the campaign. The groups will release information each day on various topics, including the outlook for this winter, safety rules, and what the public should
know about winter weather watches, warnings and advisories.

The group is stressing the importance of educating everyone in Arkansas about winter weather since many people from the New Orleans area are now living in the state after Hurricane Katrina
and will be experiencing considerably colder weather than they are used to. Average temperatures in New Orleans last winter were more than 10 degrees warmer than the average in Little Rock, for
instance.
