Flooding in the Northeast

Tropical moisture associated with Tropical Storm Tammy has caused a washout this week along the Eastern Seaboard. A cold front from Canada has come crashing into the warm, moist air creating a very wet situation.

The very heavy rains are leading to flooding concerns across the Northeast as the heavist precipitation is now reaching New England. Flash Flood Warnings are in effect in the New York City area.

The heaviest rain is just reaching New York right now so things should be getting worse. As you can see, the center of the storm is just about on top of New York City at this time.

After New York, this rains should quickly flood much of New England. Areas with higher terrain will be especially vulnerable. Those with interests in the area are encouraged to monitor the situation.
