As Ophelia is nearing the Carolina coast, it showing signs of better organization. Ophelia remains very near hurricane intensity and could restrengthen before landfall. Evacuation orders for the Outer Banks have been issued.
Right now the wind field is strongest to the east of the center, so those of you to the north of the track should beware.
This does not go well for the Outer Banks. Rain is expected across much of the Northeast later this week from Ophelia (more details are available in last night's post).
